CM Uddhav had ordered the reinstatement of Sachin Waze, the accused of keeping explosives outside Ambani's house
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has levelled serious allegations against the Thackeray family. In a statement to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Parambir said that the directions to reinstate Mumbai Police API Sachin Vaze, who has been under suspension for 16 years, were given directly by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. After this, Uddhav's son and state tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray had also asked for the reinstatement of Sachin Vaze.
Sachin Waze is the main accused in the cases of placing explosives in a car outside Mukesh Ambani's house antilia and killing the owner of the vehicle, Mansukh Hiren. He is currently lodged in Mumbai's Taloja jail. The Maharashtra Police has dismissed him from service. Parambir is alleged to have given responsibility for several important cases to Sachin Vaze despite being a junior.
After Waze's name came up, Parambir Singh had also accused former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of trying to recover Rs 100 crore through the police.
Parambir Singh has told the ED that, "Sachin Vaze was re-appointed in 2020. The suspension of all policemen is reviewed under the chairmanship of the Mumbai Police Commissioner. It involves some joint commissioners and some senior police officers. Sachin Vaze's appointment was made after a thorough review. "
Deshmukh and cm used to give direct instructions to Waze.
Parambir further said, "Apart from this, I would like to say that the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had put direct pressure to re-appoint Waze. I had received instructions from Aditya Thackeray and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to do the same. It was on the suggestion of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister that I transferred Sachin Vaze to the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU). "
He said that on behalf of these two, Sachin Vaze was called directly and an update was taken related to the investigation of any major case and an instruction was given on what to do next on it. Singh, in his statement, also alleged that Deshmukh had demanded Rs 2 crore from Waze to get him back into police service.
Anil Deshmukh used to send the list of transfers directly.
Parambir Singh in his statement further said that the committee formed for transfer-posting within the Mumbai Police is headed by the Police Commissioner. In this committee, a decision is taken on the transfer of officers of the rank of PSI to DCP. The list of transfers within the Mumbai Police was also made in the Home Ministry and this list was submitted to me several times by Home Minister Anil Deshmukh himself and many times by his PS Sanjeev Palande or his OSD Ravi Vatkar. Parambir said that many times deshmukh has called the Sahyadri guest house, where he used to give his own list and ask him to do the final.
Deshmukh calls Parambir the mastermind
Apart from Parambir's statement, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh told the ED that former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh is the mastermind of the Mansukh Hiren death case and the Antilia bomb case. He also said singh gave false information and hid the facts. Deshmukh has also said that all the instructions to Sachin Waze were given by Parambir Singh|
Anil Deshmukh's troubles may increase
ED is investigating a money laundering case involving allegations of recovery of Rs 100 crore against Anil Deshmukh. Anil Deshmukh and his PA and PS have also been arrested in the case. ED officials have recorded statements of several officials regarding recovery. It also includes the then Chief Secretary of the state Sitaram Kunte. In such a situation, after the name of CM and Aditya Thackeray comes out, a new angle will come in this case.
Kunte has also made a statement against Anil Deshmukh.
According to sources, Sitaram Kunte, in his reply to the ED, has said that when Anil Deshmukh was the Home Minister, he used to send me unauthorised lists for police transfer. I was working under them and so I couldn't refuse to accept those lists. When I was working under Anil Deshmukh, I was obeying the orders of my superiors and signing the list sent by them. It is believed that this revelation of Kunte will further increase the problems of Anil Deshmukh.
The ACB has also questioned Parambir for two hours.
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has also recorded his statement regarding the investigation being conducted against Parambir Singh on the complaint of a police inspector. Singh appeared before the investigating officer at the ACB office in Worli in central Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon, an official said on Wednesday.
